Can Cancer Drugs Fight HIV Infection???

Human Immunodeficiency Virus is the causative agent of the AIDS, which results in the failure of the immune system of the body and thereby results in life threatening infections and cancers. The major challenge the researchers are facing is the complete eradication of the latent form of this virus within the body. More number of researches is going on to find a cure for this illness. Recent study has paved way to a drug named JQ1 which is an antineoplastic cancer drug useful in riddance of latent HIV infection. This drug can reactivate the HIV infection and suppress the inflammation, thus being effective against HIV and other infections. This drug together with other HIV purging agents can be of use in the efforts to eradicate the virus completely from the infected person. This drug can be used in the transcriptional and translational efforts to eradicate viral infections. HIV treatment cannot be done in glimpse of time but should include various researches added on to the existing ones. Now researchers will be focussing on the ability of the drugs similar to JQ1 for its reactivation of HIV virus and the suppression of the HIV infections. This can surely be considered as an exciting finding which can be another part in the gearwheel of HIV treatment.
